Entrepreneurs Ask for Fiscal Incentives to Push Exports PDF Print E-mail

Employers are asking for fiscal incentives to boost export targets. Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Indonesia Rosan Roeslani said 11 percent export target can be done Indonesia. Provided there are fiscal incentives for exports and involvement in free trade or Free Trade Organization (FTO)

"Because if we want to build the industry again it takes time while to have a sustainable export growth, need a healthy national function and strong," he said

Giving stimulus in terms of taxation in the form of fiscal incentives or FTO regulations is considered the easiest and fastest. Therefore, the regulation is under the ministry.

So far, both entrepreneurs, large exporters and associations have complained about the complexity of existing regulations. They also hope the FTA will take effect, especially for trade with Europe for textiles.

As is known, Indonesia is currently running towards the Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) agreement that is expected to be completed this year. The lateness of Indonesia in the FTA recognized Rosan makes Indonesia lagging behind with many countries.

"So our exports are far behind by Vietnam and other Asean countries, which is one factor that makes our exports somewhat behind other factors," he said.

Currently Vietnam is becoming a reference for the European textile industry. In fact, in terms of quality Indonesia is still above the country. However, the existing regulations make Indonesian products less competitive than other countries.
