National cotton demand is still dominated from abroad, alias import. Based on data from the Indonesian Textile Association (API), the average cotton import last year was around US $ 1 billion per year or Rp 13.5 trillion (exchange rate of Rp 13,500).

Indonesian Ambassador to Sudan concurrently Eritrea Rossalis Rusman Adenan invites Indonesian businessmen to invest in cotton farming in Indonesia. Cotton products from these investments can be exported to Sudan as raw materials of textile products.

"To encourage Indonesian entrepreneurs to invest there, outbound nature, especially the investments that produce raw materials that our industry needs," Rossalis said.

He added that the cotton industry in Sudan is pretty good. Cotton production in one of the African countries can also help supply domestic cotton.

"The cotton industry in Sudan is such a potential that we can secure our raw cotton supply through investment there," Rossalis said.

Rossalis added that the trade value of Indonesia and Sudan can still be increased from US $ 130 million to US $ 400 million several years ago.

"The trade value with Sudan is still far below its true potential, still only US $ 130 million, which could reach US $ 400 million," said Rossalis, the commodity that will be traded also will increase from number, value, volume.

US$ 130 juta menjadi US$ 400 juta beberapa tahun lalu.

Sebelumnya bisa mencapai US$ 400 juta.
