Indonesian and Vietnamese Textile Competition in European Market PDF Print E-mail
Written by Maizer

Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association Ade Sudrajat said the textile industry needs a boost from the government. Because, this year businessmen will get a pretty tough challenge.

"As we know, for textiles we are competing with Vietnam. They can get into Europe zero percent. Our market can be taken over, "said Ade, Sunday (8/4).

One way that can be done, continued Ade, is to increase productivity and new investments in the textile industry. After that, the government immediately negotiate with new markets.

"At least in 2020 we must dare to penetrate all markets in ASEAN. Young people in Indonesia at this time also have started to develop creative design, '' added Ade.

The government itself wants to encourage textile and textile products (TPT).

This can not be separated from the fact that the textile industry has become one of the major contributors to the export sector. The industry recorded a USD 12.59 billion or 10.1 percent of total manufacturing exports in 2017.

The textile industry also contributes 1.07 percent to gross domestic product (GDP). Meanwhile, investment value exceeded Rp 10.19 trillion in 2017.
