Fabric from Indonesia is famous for its beauty. One of the nation's archipelago, batik, is able to attract the attention of the world by entering into the list of United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as the nation's cultural heritage since 2009.

In addition to batik is still a woven fabric that is not less beautiful. The beauty and uniqueness of both traditional Indonesian textiles is no doubt has a huge economic potential.

Evidently, data from the Ministry of Industry noted that weaving and batik industries contribute substantially to the national economy with export value reaching US $ 151.7 million in 2016. Weaving and batik were promoted to export-oriented labor-intensive industries.

As a contributor to the growth of the creative industry, traditional Indonesian traditional fabric craftsmen are constantly encouraged to continue to improve productivity and innovation in order to be more competitive in domestic and international markets.

The development of industrial centers seems to be the government's choice in developing the weaving industry, one of them in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) which is a producer of original Minangkabau Pandai Sikek fabrics.

Built on an area of 11,710 square meters, the center of weaving industry located in Nagari Tigo Jangko, Tanah Datar regency, West Sumatra is predicted to be the largest in Indonesia. The plan, this center will be inaugurated by the wife of Vice President Jusuf Kalla on May 8, 2018.

"Currently, it is being discussed with Ibu Mufidah Jusuf Kalla to determine when the exact time, originally scheduled for May 8," said Head of Public Relations Tanah Datar Syahril in Batusangkar

Mei 2018, Sentra Tenun Terbesar Indonesia Hadir Di Sumatera Barat
