Bali Students Perform 3D Research of Metal Printing and Textile Touchpad in Germany PDF Print E-mail

In the future it could be that everyone has a 3D printer at home or a laptop touchpad made of textile material. These two researches are being conducted by an Indonesian student from Bali in Germany, Putu Teguh Satria Adi.


Putu Teguh Satria Adi studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen. Now he is completing a thesis with a theme that is prepared by Siemens AG, Power & Gas Division, about 3D printing for metal. To complete his thesis, he often spent time at the Fraunhofer ILT library, Aachen.


Putu Teguh became part of a young researcher in Fraunhofer ILT. This research institute is the largest and renowned in Europe and has a close relationship with the industrial world. Therefore, the research conducted there is very relevant to the needs of the industry, such as Putu Teguh do, research 3D printing for metal with Siemens.


It's incomplete if at home there is no 3D printer. Although not for metal, but the printer that Putu Teguh raft alone is enough to help him realize the design objects with complicated geometry. He has printed many objects with this printer, such as a vase.


In addition to 3D printing research, Putu also has research in the field of textile touchpad. Probably in the future, laptop touchpad can be made of textile material, so no problem anymore if our hands are wet and we want to operate the laptop. This research puts Putu Teguh under the institute for textile technology, ITA.


RWTH Aachen has many research institutions, which are the place for students to innovate in technology. Touchpad textile research is done by Putu at a research institute for textile technology, ITA. According to Putu Teguh, ITA has a lot of visionary and sustainable research.


Textile touchpad research was done by Putu along with his German research partner Christian Grauberger. Initially, this research is a college assignment. However, they are all excited to continue this textile touchpad project, which entered the final Innovation Award, a competition for technological innovation at RWTH Aachen.


Mahasiswa Bali Lakukan Riset 3D Printing Logam dan Touchpad Tekstil di Jerman


Di masa depan bisa jadi setiap orang punya 3D printer di rumah atau touchpad laptop terbuat dari bahan tekstil. Ini dua riset yang sedang dilakukan seorang mahasiswa Indonesia asal Bali di Jerman, Putu Teguh Satria Adi.


Putu Teguh Satria Adi kuliah teknik mesin di RWTH Aachen. Kini ia sedang menyelesaikan skripsi dengan tema yang disiapkan oleh Siemens AG, Power & Gas Division, mengenai 3D printing untuk logam. Untuk menyelesaikan skripsinya ini, ia seringkali menghabiskan waktu di perpustakaan Fraunhofer ILT, Aachen.


Putu Teguh menjadi bagian dari periset muda di Fraunhofer ILT. Institusi riset ini adalah yang terbesar dan ternama di Eropa dan memiliki hubungan yang erat dengan dunia industri. Oleh karena itu, riset-riset yang dilakukan disana sangat relevan dengan kebutuhan industri, seperti yang Putu Teguh lakukan, riset 3D printing untuk metal bersama Siemens.


Tidak lengkap rasanya jika di rumah tidak ada printer 3D. Meskipun bukan untuk logam, namun printer yang Putu Teguh rakit sendiri cukup membantunya mewujudkan desain-desain benda dengan geometri yang rumit. Ia telah mencetak banyak benda dengan printernya ini, seperti misalnya vas bunga.


Selain riset 3D printing, Putu juga punya riset di bidang touchpad tekstil. Kemungkinan di masa depan, touchpad laptop bisa terbuat dari bahan tekstil, jadi tidak ada masalah lagi jika tangan kita basah dan kita mau mengoperasikan laptop. Riset ini Putu Teguh lakukan dibawah institut untuk teknologi tekstil, ITA.


RWTH Aachen memiliki banyak sekali institusi riset, yang menjadi wadah para mahasiswanya melakukan inovasi teknologi. Riset tekstil touchpad dilakukan Putu di institusi riset untuk teknologi tekstil, ITA. Menurut Putu Teguh, ITA memiliki banyak penelitian yang visionaris dan berkelanjutan.


Riset touchpad tekstil dilakukan Putu bersama dengan rekan risetnya dari Jerman, Christian Grauberger. Awalnya, riset ini adalah tugas kuliah. Namun mereka semua semangat untuk melanjutkan proyek touchpad tekstil ini, yang sempat masuk final Innovation Award, satu ajang kompetisi inovasi teknologi di RWTH Aachen.
