Dollar Rise, West Java Textile Entrepreneur No Worry PDF Print E-mail

The Indonesian Textile Association (API) of West Java claims that the US dollar exchange rate against the rupiah has not affected the textile industry. Because, although raw materials are still imported, textile entrepreneurs are helped by rising export value.

Jabar API secretary general Kevin Hartanto said it was not too worried about the rise in the dollar in recent weeks. The increase is considered within reasonable limits, where the dollar is estimated to be looking for new equilibrium figures. Finally, the dollar exchange rate is recorded at Rp14,000 / USD.

"The impact must be there, but it is not very significant, because although imported raw materials are exported, it is precisely for the export market to benefit," explained Kevin in Bandung.

According to him, the majority of large textile industries in West Java export products. Meanwhile, the importation of only certain raw materials such as cotton and spinner machinery. The component is still recognized 100% import.

"For the textile industry sold in the country, the market is also quite good, especially Lebaran and the political year so it will not be affected significantly, Majalaya sarong craftsmen for example, now the demand is quite good.Support with the previous stock of sarong to accumulate," beber Kevin.

Nevertheless, he hopes the rupiah exchange rate against the dollar does not go down. "The important thing is not to volatile, if it goes down, that will be a problem, because now the margin industry is getting thinner, so we are difficult to determine the price. It will be inflation, "he added.

Dolar Naik, Pengusaha Tekstil Jabar Tidak Khawatir
