ASEAN needs to beware of China's 2025 Artificial Initiative PDF Print E-mail

Countries in Southeast Asia need to be wary of China's efforts to improve its technological superiority through the Made in China 2025 program.

 

It needs to be done not only because ASEAN countries are the main export targets of Chinese products, such as trains and smartphones, but because they emphasize local content

 

The requirements could be used in Southeast Asia in matters related to China, according to the Oxford Business Group research report.

 

"In order to remain competitive in today's technological era, the governments of ASEAN countries have embarked on various strategies for industrial progress," he wrote.

 

Indonesia, for example, launched a national strategy in April 2018 called "Making Indonesia 4.0" with the aim of advancing the domestic manufacturing industry.

 

"These strategies prioritize key sectors, which is one of the government's efforts to make Indonesia a global leader," the London-based consultancy firm said.

 

The Made in China 2025 program not only needs to be watched by Southeast Asian countries. Economic giants, such as the United States and EU countries, are also wary of the government program of the State of Bamboo Curtain that created globalization in the field of technology.

 

With a population of 1.4 billion, China has access to enormous sample data that puts it at the forefront to commercialize and improve innovation everywhere, Oxford Business Group wrote. Large amounts of data can lead to automation processes and search services that match artificial intelligence (AI).

 

"Forget the trade war - Made in China's 2025 core program succeeded in promoting Chinese and kinship in the new energy industry, the US will lose competition that will increasingly rely on innovation products that create China that will change lifestyles and ways of doing business, "he added.

 

ASEAN Perlu Waspadai Inisiatif Made in China 2025

 

 

Negara-negara di kawasan Asia Tenggara perlu mewaspadai upaya China meningkatkan keunggulan teknologinya melalui program Made in China 2025.

 

Hal itu perlu dilakukan bukan hanya karena negara-negara ASEAN merupakan target ekspor utama produk-produk inovasi dari Cina, seperti rel kereta api dan ponsel pintar, tetapi karena program itu sangat menekankan persyaratan konten local

 

Persyaratan itu nantinya dapat menghambat produsen Asia Tenggara lainnya dalam berbisnis yang menguntungkan secara jangka panjang di dalam rantai nilai Cina, menurut catatan riset Oxford Business Group.

 

"Agar tetap memiliki daya saing di era teknologi seperti saat ini, pemerintah negara-negara ASEAN sudah memulai mencanangkan sejumlah strategi untuk kemajuan industri," tulisnya.

 

Indonesia, misalnya, mencanangkan strategi nasional di April 2018 bernama "Making Indonesia 4.0" dengan tujuan untuk memajukan industri manufaktur dalam negeri.

 

"Strategi tersebut memprioritaskan perkembangan lima sektor utama: makanan dan minuman, otomotif, tekstil, elektronik, dan bahan kimia. Strategi ini merupakan salah satu upaya pemerintah menjadikan Indonesia sebagai pemimpin global," tulis perusahaan konsultan yang berbasis di London, Inggris itu.

 

Program Made in China 2025 tidak hanya perlu diawasi oleh negara-negara Asia Tenggara. Raksasa ekonomi, seperti Amerika Serikat dan negara-negara Uni Eropa, juga mewaspadai program pemerintah Negeri Tirai Bambu yang berupaya menjadikan China pemain global dalam bidang teknologi.

 

Dengan jumlah penduduk mencapai 1,4 miliar, China memiliki akses terhadap sampel data yang sangat besar yang menempatkannya di posisi terdepan untuk mengomersilkan dan meningkatkan inovasi di industri mana pun, tulis Oxford Business Group. Jumlah data yang besar dapat memajukan proses otomatisasi dan penyediaan layanan dan solusi yang berdasarkan artificial intelligence (AI).

 

"Lupakan perang perdagangan - apabila program Made in China 2025 berhasil memajukan Cina dan mengalahkan kompetitornya dalam bidang industri generasi baru, AS akan kalah dalam persaingan dagang ini sebab seluruh dunia akan semakin dependen terhadap produk-produk inovasi yang diciptakan Cina yang akan mengubah gaya hidup dan cara menjalankan bisnis," tambahnya.
