Lenzing Group targets fiber usage for industry sector PDF Print E-mail

Manufacturers of cellulose fibers, Lenzing Group introduced LENZING ™, a special fiber brand for the industrial segment derived from non-chemical natural materials.

 

This type of fiber covers a wide range of industrial applications ranging from the agricultural sector to the engineered products sector, the packaging sector to the protective clothing and workwear.

 

Furthermore, the company plans to position the fiber for the Biorefinery business sector. "We use the latest branding strategy to summarize and protect our trademarks and minimize inconsistencies & minimize inefficiencies," said Robert van de Kerkhof, Chief Commercial Officer of Lenzing Group in a press release received by Kontan.co.id on Wednesday (4/7) .

 

In recent years, the company has noticed growing trends among its industry partners, that is, they are pushing for sustainability by increasing the use of renewable raw materials.

 

The company previously launched TENCEL ™ brand, Lenzing brand for apparel and home supplies, and the launch of VEOCEL ™, Lenzing's new brand specifically for the nonwoven industry.

 

So far, the launch of the industry-specific LENZING ™ brand includes textile, nonwoven, and industrial applications. Coupled with a directed communications program, the new brand architecture will support the company to increase clarity, awaken awareness, and strengthen exposure in various industry sectors.

 

For your information, Lenzing has been doing cellulose fiber business in Indonesia. The company owns 11.92% shares of PT South Pacific Viscose which was established in 1982.

 

The production of Lenzing cellulose fibers has also been taking place in Purwakarta, West Java. The installed production capacity of the plant is 325,000 tons per year. Currently, its utility is almost full capacity or full.

 

The Purwakarta factory operates with five production lines and 2,000 workers. Lenzing last invested in 2011, with a value of US $ 130 million.

 

Lenzing sells 65% of Purwakarta's factory production to textile and garment companies in Indonesia. While about 35% of it for non-woven sector, the majority of which is exported to Japan.

 

Given the financial statements of Lenzing Group, until 2017 SPV recorded net sales of € 499.9 million, growing 1.2% compared to the previous year's net sales of € 493.9 million. SPV net profit was recorded negative 9.6% year on year to € 26.36 throughout 2017.

 

 

Lenzing Group sasar penggunaan serat bagi sektor industry

 

Produsen serat selulosa, Lenzing Group memperkenalkan LENZING™, brand serat khusus untuk segmen industrial yang berasal dari bahan alami alias non kimiawi.

Serat jenis ini mencakup berbagai aplikasi industri mulai dari sektor pertanian hingga sektor produk rekayasa (engineered products), sektor packaging hingga pakaian pelindung dan workwear.

 

Lebih jauh lagi, perseroan berencana memposisikan serat tersebut untuk sektor bisnis Biorefinery. “Kami menggunakan strategi branding terbaru guna meringkas dan melindungi deretan merek dagang kami serta memperkecil inkonsistensi & meminimalkan inefisiensi," ungkap Robert van de Kerkhof, Chief Commercial Officer Lenzing Group dalam rilis media yang diterima Kontan.co.id, Rabu (4/7).

 

Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, perseroan memperhatikan tren yang kian berkembang di antara mitra industrinya, yaitu mereka tengah mendorong keberlanjutan (sustainability) dengan meningkatkan penggunaan bahan baku terbarukan.

 

Adapun sebelumnya perseroan telah meluncurkan brand TENCEL™, merek dari Lenzing untuk pakaian jadi dan perlengkapan rumah, kemudian peluncuran VEOCEL™, brand baru Lenzing khusus untuk industri nonwoven.

 

Sejauh ini, peluncuran brand khusus untuk segmen industrial, LENZING™, mencakup sektor tekstil, nonwoven, dan aplikasi industrial. Ditambah dengan program komunikasi yang terarah, arsitektur brand baru ini akan mendukung perseroan meningkatkan kejelasan, membangkitkan kesadaran, dan memperkuat eksposur di berbagai sektor industri.

 

Sekadar informasi, Lenzing telah berbisnis serat selulosa di Indonesia. Perusahaan itu memiliki 11,92% saham PT South Pacific Viscose yang berdiri tahun 1982.

 

Produksi serat selulosa Lenzing juga sudah berlangsung di Purwakarta, Jawa Barat. Kapasitas produksi terpasang pabrik tersebut sebesar 325.000 ton per tahun. Saat ini, utilitasnya hampir full kapasitas atau penuh.

 

Pabrik Purwakarta beroperasi dengan lima lini produksi dan 2.000 pekerja. Lenzing terakhir kali membenamkan investasi pada tahun 2011 silam, dengan nilai mencapai US$ 130 juta.

 

Lenzing memasarkan 65% produksi pabrik Purwakarta ke perusahaan tekstil dan garmen di Indonesia.  Sedangkan sekitar 35% nya itu untuk sektor non woven, yang mayoritas di ekspor ke Jepang.

 

Menilik laporan keuangan Lenzing Group, sampai tahun 2017 SPV mencatat penjualan bersih senilai € 499,9 juta, tumbuh 1,2% dibandingkan penjualan bersih tahun sebelumnya sebesar € 493,9 juta. Laba bersih SPV tercatat negatif 9,6% year on year menjadi € 26,36 sepanjang 2017.
