This impact if US apply import duties 124 Indonesian export products PDF Print E-mail

The trade war between the United States and China that began Friday (6/7) and then heated up after the US reportedly evaluating about 124 Indonesian export products, including textiles, plywood, cotton, and some fishery products such as shrimp and crabs. The evaluation was conducted to determine what products are still eligible to receive generalized system of preferences (GSP).

GSP itself is a trade policy of a country that gives import duty import duty on export product of recipient country. If this GSP is eliminated, then the import duty on Indonesian products to the US becomes more expensive.

Director General of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Trade Oke Nurwan stated, if the US revoked GSP policy for Indonesia, Indonesian export products become less competitive. "The price is going up," Oke said after a coordination meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs on Sunday (8/7).

Okay continue, It will have a major impact on Indonesia's trade balance. Therefore, 10% of Indonesia's export products are affected by GSP. The government says he has had a count of the impact. "It's there but I can not chat," he said.

After discussing in a coordination meeting led by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution today, the evaluation of 124 export products from Indonesia being conducted by the US will be discussed in a limited meeting by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at Bogor Palace on Monday (9/7) tomorrow.

Ini dampak jika AS terapkan bea masuk 124 produk ekspor Indonesia

Direktur Jenderal Perdagangan Luar Negeri Kementerian Perdagangan Oke Nurwan menyatakan, jika AS mencabut kebijakan GSP untuk Indonesia, produk ekspor Indonesia menjadi kurang kompetitif.
