Textile export is targeted to grow 7% PDF Print E-mail

API and net export target and value added contributed by the textile industry until the end of 2018 to US $ 4 billion. The Indonesian Textile Association (API) projects this year's textile price growth to reach 7%. Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat Usman API also targets net added value to be contributed by the textile industry until the end of 2018 to US $ 4 billion, larger than 2017 which reached US $ 3.5 billion.

"However, this optimism must be supported by the synergy between parties, such as a series of producers from upstream to downstream, ITPT supporters and policy makers," said Ade.

As one of the government's priority industries, the textile and textile products (TPT) industry has proved 6.39% to GDP by 2017. However, this performance is still largely designed by textile producers. One of them is the price of raw materials available in the country.

Prices of domestic raw materials at competitive prices with the same materials from import sources. Raw material is polyester fiber as yarn raw material which is currently cost 13% more expensive abroad.

"These conditions are the main attraction of Indonesian textile product exports downstream," said Ade.

This significant price difference, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and the receiving countries of the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) facilities.

In order for nothing to deteriorate, it is necessary to cooperate among producers, policy makers to evaluate premium goods (the case of polyester fiber import duties) and tightening supervision from relevant ministries.

"It is expected that the problem can enter polyester can be reviewed again, then the price of raw materials that can improve productivity of ITPT Indonesia in the world," he concluded.

Ekspor tekstil ditarget tumbuh 7%
