Trade between RI-US from January to May 2018 US $ 11.85 Billion PDF Print E-mail

Indonesian Export Companies Association and Indonesian Importers Association (GPEI / GINSI) appreciate the implementation of Business & Business Matching Forum held by RI-US in Washington DC, US, Tuesday (24/7). Meanwhile, the value of trade between the two countries from January to May 2018 has reached US $ 11.85 billion.

 

Secretary General of BPP GINSI Erwin Taufan who is also advisor to the Central Board of Management (BPP) GPEI said the business forum and business matching held by RI-US is expected to be one solution to increase foreign trade amid increasingly tight business competition.

 

The Business Forum and one-on-one business matching presented 32 companies from RI to explore various cooperation opportunities in Washington. This business and business matching forum is part of an effort to encourage increased trade cooperation between Indonesia and the US from the private sector, in addition to bilateral efforts.

 

Business delegations from Indonesia consist of Indonesian Palm Oil Entrepreneurs Association (GAPKI), Indonesian Biofuel Producers Association (APROBI), Indonesian Textile Association (API). Association of Exporters of Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Indonesia (ASEIBSSINDO) and Indonesian Exporters Association / Indonesian Importers Association (GPEI / GINSI).

 

Meanwhile, business actors from Indonesia who participated were car tire, palm oil, agriculture and horticulture, fishery, steel, aluminum, textile and textile product, food and beverage, dairy and consumer goods products.

 

According to statistics, the total trade between RI-US in 2017 amounted to US $ 25.91 billion. Of this amount, Indonesia's exports reached US $ 17.79 billion and imports valued at US $ 8.12 billion. Thus Indonesia incised a surplus to the US amounted to US $ 9.67 billion.

 

The main export products of RI to the US include shrimp, natural rubber, footwear, vehicle tires and garment. While Indonesia's main imports from the US include soybeans, cotton, wheat flour, cornstarch and animal feed.

 

Total trade between RI-US in 2017 increased 10% compared to the year of 2016 which recorded US $ 23.44 billion. The trade in the period 2013-2017 grew positive about 0.39%.

 

Meanwhile, the trade value between January and May 2018 reached US $ 11.85 billion, an increase compared to the same period in 207 which was recorded at US $ 10.65 billion

Gabungan Perusahaan Ekspor Indonesia dan Gabungan Importir Nasional Indonesia (GPEI/GINSI) mengapresiasi pelaksanaan Forum Bisnis & Business Matching yang digelar RI-AS di Washington DC, AS, Selasa (24/7). Sementara itu, nilai perdagangan kedua negara periode Januari-Mei 2018 sudah mencapai US$ 11,85 miliar.

 

Sekjen BPP GINSI Erwin Taufan yang juga penasihat Badan Pengurus Pusat (BPP) GPEI yang dihubungi melalui telepon, Senin (30/7) mengatakan, forum bisnis dan business matching yang digelar RI-AS diharapkan menjadi salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan perdagangan luar negeri di tengah persaingan bisnis yang semakin ketat.

 

Forum Bisnis dan one-on-one business matching tersebut menghadirkan 32 perusahaan asal RI untuk menjajaki berbagai peluang kerja sama di Washington. Forum bisnis dan business matching ini merupakan bagian dari upaya mendorong peningkatan kerja sama dagang RI dan AS dari sektor swasta, selain lewat upaya bilateral.

 

Delegasi bisnis dari Indonesia terdiri atas Gabungan Pengusaha Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (GAPKI), Asosiasi Produsen  Biofuel Indonesia (APROBI),Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API). Asosiasi Eksportir Buah dan Sayur Segar Indonesia (ASEIBSSINDO) dan Gabungan Perusahaan Eksportir Indonesia/Gabungan Importir Nasional Indonesia (GPEI/GINSI).

 

Sementara itu pelaku usaha dari Indonesia yang turut serta antara lain produsen ban mobil, minyak kelapa sawit, produk pertanian dan hortikultura, perikanan, baja, aluminium, tekstil, dan produk tekstil, makanan dan minuman, produk susu serta consumer goods.

 

Menurut data statistik, total perdagangan RI-AS tahun 2017 sebesar US$ 25,91 miliar. Dari jumlah tersebut, ekspor Indonesia mencapai US$ 17,79 miliar dan impor senilai US$ 8,12 miliar. Dengan demikian Indonesia menorehkan surplus terhadap AS sebesar US$ 9,67 miliar.

 

Produk ekspor utama RI ke AS antara lain udang, karet alam, alas kaki, ban kendaraan dan garmen. Sementara impor utama RI dari AS antara lain kedelai, kapas, tepung gandum, tepung maizena dan pakan ternak.

 

Total perdagangan RI-AS tahun 2017 meningkat 10% dibandingkan tahun 2016 yang tercatat US$ 23,44 miliar. Adapun perdagangan pada kurun 2013-2017 tumbuh positif sekitar 0,39%.

 

Sementara nilai perdagangan kedua negara periode Januari-Mei 2018 mencapai US$ 11,85 miliar, atau meningkat dibandingkan periode yang sama tahun 207 yang tercatat sebesar US$ 10,65 miliar
