PGN's Commercial Director, Danny Praditya said, the growth contribution came from the power generation, industry and retail sectors. "The indications are double digit growth compared to the same period last year. The plant is about 30%, the rest is retail and industrial," he said.

PGN's Corporate Secretary, Rachmat Hutama added, need for five sectors that use gas from the PGN Group during the first semester of 2018 is 835 billion British thermal units per day (BBTUD). Gas demand in that period increased by 86 bbtud compared to the same period last year. "Semester I-2017 amounted to 749 bbtud or grew by 12%," said Rachmat.

He also explained, the projection of gas distribution in the second semester of 2018 amounted to 817 bbtud. For distribution next year, PGN's management projects 830 bbtud, which covers  distribution areas of Medan, Batam, Pekanbaru, Dumai, Lampung, Palembang, Jakarta, Semarang, Blora, Tarakan, Sorong, East Java (East Java) and West Java.

PGN also ensures that the price of industrial gas in West Java has not changed, as expected by the textile industry players and the Indonesian Ceramic Association (Asaki). Danny said that the price of gas in the region had not been adjusted. "Currently the price is still the same. Regarding the projection of the second half of 2018, Hope can be stable and exceed the 2018 RKAP target," he said.

Previously, textile businesses and Asaki asked that gas prices between the areas of West Java and East Java will be same. Asaki Chairperson Elisa Sinaga said the price of gas in the two regions was different, with the difference of 15%, where the West Java region was around US $ 9.16 per mmbtu and East Java US $ 7.98 per mmbtu.

Previously, at the beginning of April 2018 PGN officially distributed gas to PT Hiruta Kogyo Indonesia which is a company in  automotive field that produces auto parts. In addition to Hiruta Kogyo Indonesia, at the beginning of April this year PGN distributed its first natural gas to PT Alexindo in Karawang. Precisely on April 2, PGN's natural gas has flowed to meet the fuel needs of the company that produces aluminum.

Before these two companies, PGN had supplied natural gas to a number of major industries in Karawang, including PT Surya Energi Parahita, PT Trigunapratama Abadi, PT Chunetsu Indonesia and PT Gemala Kempa Daya.
