Sritex Expects to Eliminate Tariff of Textile Products to European Markets PDF Print E-mail
Written by Maizer
Tuesday, 14 August 2018

PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk (SRIL) hopes for the elimination of tariffs on textile products (TPT) to the European market. This tariff removal request can be carried out in the Indonesia-European Union Cemprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (I-EU CEPA) negotiations.

If Indonesia succeeds in lobbying for eliminate of textile import tariffs in Europe, according to Welly, SRIL's yarn and garment exports will go up. Products currently exporting include yarn and finished fabric, said SRIL's Corporate Secretary, Welly Salam.

Even SRIL also exported garments in the form of military clothing to 33 countries, both Europe and Asia. "Military garment products are supplied based on tenders which on average have been completed in the first semester of this year," he said.

In the first half of 2018, the SRIL export segment contributed 53% of the company's total net income or US $ 292 million. Up 37% year on year (yoy) which is only US $ 212 million.

Meanwhile, the Asian region still dominates  company's sales in the first half of 2018. The value was US $ 218 million or grew 71% from last year.

While the European region is still around US $ 36 million, only up 5.8%. "We are optimistic that this year's revenue will grow 35%," said Welly.

Naik 37% secara year on year (yoy) yang hanya US$ 212 juta.

Adapun, kawasan Asia masih mendominasi penjualan perseroan di semester I-2018. Nilainya US$ 218 juta atau tumbuh 71% dari tahun lalu.

Sementara kawasan Eropa masih sekitar US$ 36 juta, hanya naik 5,8%.  "Kami optimistis pendapatan tahun ini tumbuh 35%," tutur Welly.
