The President Director of PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk (SRIL) or Sritex Iwan Setiawan Lukminto complained about the rampant textile products from China that were attacking the Indonesian market.

Textile products that should be able to be produced in Indonesia, said Iwan, are many who actually come from China. For example, brocade fabric. Brocade is a processed fabric that is usually used to make kebaya.

"For example brocade, there are still a lot of imports. The brocade kebaya should be domestically but imported, from China and from India, a lot," said Iwan.

In fact, Iwan considered that many textile products from China that refused to be recorded were transferred to the Indonesian market. These items are categorized as waste.

"The rest of the waste dispose of it to Indonesia at a low price, whatever, people left it for him at any price. So that's the game in the textile," he explained.

If products from China that are sold to Indonesia are fresh or of good quality, Iwan is not too concerned because they are still able to compete.

But if the products that are brought from China are leftover items that are rejected in their countries, this is a concern for the domestic textile industry. Because in terms of their prices are cheaper.

"Products in China with Indonesia may be more expensive if the product is fresh. That is how to beat it here? (Price slump)," he explained.

Therefore, Iwan asked the government to intervene to deal with it. There needs to be a policy from the government so that Chinese textiles do not just enter Indonesia.
