PT Pan Brothers Tbk. said the shift of labor from human to machine with the application of industry 4.0 made productivity doubled.

Human Resources Management General Manager of PT Pan Brothers Tbk. Nurdin Setiawan said, the application of the industrial revolution 4.0 would not reduce the number of workers in his company.

"This means that we do not reduce workers, but the output can increase many times so that with a current capacity of 90 million pieces per year, it is without having to add a new factory," Nurudin said

The industrial revolution 4.0 was marked by the operation of automated factories with integrated technology support. This era is marked by increasingly reliable e-Commerce, financial technology (Fintech), Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), digitalization, 3D Printing and robotics.

On Pan Brother itself, he said, when the factory automates, a number of workers are transferred to the assembly of the product (assembly) so that there is no termination of employment (PHK).

"Implementation of industry 4.0 does not affect the reduction of labor," he said.

The Ministry of Industry established the textile and textile product sector (TPT) to be one of the five manufacturing sectors developed to implement the fourth industrial revolution. The target for national textile and apparel producers to rank among the world's top five by 2030.

"Especially for the shoes and sport apparels industry, our production has passed China. In fact, in Brazil, we already control the market there by 80 percent, "said Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto.

Airlangga mentions the advantages of the TPT industry at the global level because its industrial structure is integrated from upstream to downstream. Its products are also known to have good quality in the international market.

Industri 4.0 Bakal Kurangi Jumlah Pekerja?

PT Pan Brothers Tbk. menyebutkan peralihan tenaga kerja dari manusia ke mesin dengan penerapan industri 4.0 membuat produktivitas meningkat dua kali lipat.

Human Resources Management General Manager PT Pan Brothers Tbk.
