Indonesian Textile Products Encouraged to Expand Markets in the US PDF Print E-mail

Experts in the Indonesian fashion and textile industry are expected to increase the value of cotton imported from the United States into high-value textile products

 

Joseph R. Donovan Jr, Ambassador of the United States (US) for Indonesia said by processing raw cotton material into high-value products, textile products from Indonesia can reach strategic markets around the world including the US market.

 

"We will encourage Indonesian companies to [broader penetration] the US market, especially for cotton products [AS]," Joseph said on the sidelines of the inauguration of Indonesian Cotton Day in Jakarta.

 

He said Indonesian textile products are famous for their beauty. For this reason, it is expected that these experts can release their best capabilities so that many Indonesian brands are known more deeply in the US market.

 

Meanwhile at the same event, Cotton Council International (CCI) handed over the trademark license for The Cotton USA to six Indonesian companies.

 

The companies that received this license were PT Indah Jaya Textile Industry, PT Kewalram Indonesia, PT Embee Plumbon Tekstil, PT Eftara Retailindo, PT Win Textile and PT Kusuma Sandang Mekarjaya.

 

Since the brand's license was introduced in 1989, 51,000 brands and 3.8 million products have included this label. CCI states that even though it is in the form of a license, it does not charge fees for qualified partners.

 

"By having a Cotton USA and Mark license, products produced by Indonesian textile companies will get a positive US cotton image," said Bruce Atherley, Executive Director of CCI.

 

Produk Tekstil Indonesia Didorong Perluas Pasar di AS

 

 

Para ahli dalam industri fashion dan tekstil Indonesia diharapkan meningkatkan nilai kapas yang diimpor dari Amerika Serikat menjadi produk tekstil bernilai tinggi

 

Joseph R. Donovan Jr, Duta Besar Amerika Serikat (AS) untuk Indonesia menuturkan dengan mengolah bahan mentah kapas menjadi produk bernilai tinggi maka produk tekstil dari Indonesia dapat menjangkau pasar-pasar strategis di seluruh dunia termasuk pasar AS.

 

"Kami akan dorong perusahaan Indonesia untuk [penetrasi lebih luas pada] pasar AS. Terutama untuk produk berbahan katun [AS]," kata Joseph di sela peresmian Hari Kapas Indonesia di Jakarta.

 

Dia menyebutkan produk-produk tekstil Indonesia terkenal akan keindahannya. Untuk itu digarapkan para ahli tersebut dapat mengeluarkan kemampuan terbaiknya agar banyak merek Indonesia dikenal lebih dalam di pasar AS.

 

Sementara itu dalam acara yang sama, Cotton Council International (CCI) menyerahkan sertifikat lisensi merek dagang The Cotton USA kepada enam perusahaan Indonesia.

 

Perusahaan yang menerima lisensi ini yakni PT Indah Jaya Textile Industry, PT Kewalram Indonesia, PT Embee Plumbon Tekstil, PT Eftara Retailindo, PT Win Textile dan PT Kusuma Sandang Mekarjaya.

 

Sejak lisensi merek ini diperkenalkan pada 1989, telah 51.000 merek dan 3,8 juta produk mencantumkan label ini. CCI menyebutkan meski berbentuk lisensi, pihaknya tidak mengenakan biaya bagi mitra yang memenuhi kualifikasi.

 

"Dengan memiliki lisensi Cotton USA dan Mark, produk-produk yang dihasilkan perusahaan tekstil Indonesia akan mendapatkan image positif kapas AS," kata Bruce Atherley, Excecutive Director CCI.
