The Indonesian Textile Association (API) is optimistic that Indonesia can achieve the export target of USD30 billion before 2025. API Chairman Ade Sudrajat said that Indonesia currently has only two percent of the world market share.

 

"If it can go up to five percent, it will be more than USD30 billion," Ade said, Friday, in Bandung, West Java.

 

Ade said textile is Indonesia's third foreign exchange source, after tourism and palm oil. This year the government is targeting Indonesia's textile exports to increase 8 percent compared to last year. At present, Ade said, Indonesia's main textile market share is the European Union, with a figure of nearly USD800 billion.

 

Ade admitted that currently domestic textile needs are still being met through imports. Of the needs of USD10 billion dollars, only USD3 billion is filled with local products. The solution, said Ade, is that the API is trying to expand investment in this industry, especially in Central Java, where regional minimum wages are lower than West Java.

 

The Ministry of Home Affairs, said Ade, also opened a special school of textiles in the form of academies up to the level of Diploma 2 in Surakarta, Central Java. The government is currently negotiating with the European Union through the EU-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and various other free trade.

 

The target of negotiations with the EU-Indonesia CEPA will be completed in 2019, so that the agreement can take effect from 2020. "Later millions and even tens of millions of textile jobs will be opened," according to Ade.

 

At present, said Ade, API is moving young people to be more creative and innovative in producing textiles. So that in the future there will be more new products with creative and innovative fashion designs. Especially with the trend of online trading young people do not need to produce in large quantities at once, such as factory requests. They can start with the existing raw materials and less production quantity, said Ade again.

Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) optimistis indonesia dapat mencapai target ekspor USD30 miliar sebelum 2025. Ketua API Ade Sudrajat mengatakan saat ini Indonesia baru menguasai dua persen pangsa pasar dunia.

 

“Kalau bisa naik menjadi lima persen saja sudah lebih dari USD30 miliar,” kata Ade, Jumat, di Bandung, Jawa Barat.

 

Ade mengatakan tekstil merupakan sumber devisa ketiga Indonesia, setelah pariwisata dan kelapa sawit. Tahun ini pemerintah menargetkan ekspor tekstil Indonesia meningkat 8 persen ketimbang tahun lalu. Saat ini, ujar Ade, pangsa pasar utama tekstil Indonesia adalah Uni Eropa, dengan angka hampir USD800 miliar.

 

Ade mengakui jika saat ini kebutuhan tekstil dalam negeri masih dipenuhi lewat impor. Dari kebutuhan USD10 miliar dolar, baru USD3 miliar yang terisi produk lokal. Solusinya, ungkap Ade, API tengah berupaya memperluas investasi industri ini, terutama di Jawa tengah, yang upah minimum regionalnya lebih rendah ketimbang Jawa Barat.

 

Kementerian Dalam Negeri, kata Ade, juga telah membuka sekolah khusus tekstil berupa akademi hingga tingkat Diploma 2 di Surakarta, Jawa Tengah. Saat ini pemerintah tengah berunding dengan Uni Eropa lewat EU-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), dan berbagai perdagangan bebas lainnya.

 

Targetnya perundingan dengan EU-Indonesia CEPA akan rampung 2019, sehingga perjanjian tersebut dapat berlaku mulai 2020. “Nanti akan terbuka jutaan bahkan puluhan juta lapangan kerja tekstil,” menurut Ade.

 

Saat ini, kata Ade, API tengah menggerakkan kaum muda untuk lebih kreatif dan inovatif memproduksi tekstil. Sehingga ke depan akan lebih banyak produk baru dengan desain fashion kreatif dan inovatif. Apalagi dengan adanya tren perdagangan daring kaum muda tak perlu memproduksi dalam jumlah besar sekaligus, seperti permintaan pabrik. Mereka bisa memulainya dengan bahan baku yang ada dan kuantitas produksi lebih sedikit, ujar Ade lagi.
