The textile and textile product industry (TPT) is predicted to revive because of the growing export market and domestic needs. Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita said the government invited textile and textile products entrepreneurs to meet domestic needs.

 

The reason is there are business opportunities to fill large domestic needs but the producers cannot fulfill them. Instead of working on the domestic market, entrepreneurs choose exports because of new opportunities due to the trade war between the United States and China. "Our new generation is pushing for business expansion," Enggar said.

 

He said the condition of Indonesian textile business was now advancing. In contrast to previous years which experienced a decline. "Indonesia's growth is extraordinary, now it's not sunset anymore but growing," he said.

 

General Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association of West Java (API Jabar) Ade Sudrajat said global demand to increase exports of textiles and textile products rose by five percent in 2017 and then rose again by eight percent in 2018. "Previously it did not increase," he said. The target from now on is to meet domestic needs up to one hundred percent and export value reaches US $ 30 billion.

 

Now Ade said, the number of textile needs per capita rose two kilograms from 4.5 to 6.5 kilograms. However, in this domestic market only 60 million Indonesians have been fulfilled, the rest are still imported.

 

Meanwhile, access to the textile and textile products market is currently still dependent on traditional markets, namely the United States and the European Union. "From 2020 we push export with a workforce of tens of millions of people and the textiles are designed to be more creative and innovative," said Ade.

 

Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Textile Association, Foreign Trade Division, Anne Patricia Sutanto, said that the Indonesian textile and textile products industry's operating income was only US $ 13 billion. Through the roadmap that is now being refined, the revenue target in 2025-2035 is set at US $ 30-50 billion.

 

"The challenge ahead is to expand into (the market) domestically. Now (entrepreneurs) are still on imports because they are flexible and cheap," She said

 

 

Pertumbuhan Industri Tekstil Indonesia Luar Biasa

 

 

Industri tekstil dan produk tekstil (TPT) diprediksi kembali menggeliat karena pasar ekspor dan kebutuhan domestik tumbuh. Menteri Perdagangan Enggartiasto Lukita mengatakan pemerintah mengajak pengusaha tekstil dan produk tekstil untuk memenuhi kebutuhan domestik.

 

Alasannya ada peluang usaha untuk mengisi kebutuhan domestik yang besar tapi belum bisa dipenuhi produsen. Alih-alih menggarap pasar domestik, pengusaha memilih ekspor karena adanya peluang baru akibat perang dagang antara Amerika Serikat dengan Cina. "Generasi baru kita dorong untuk ekspansi usaha," kata Enggar .

 

Dia mengatakan kondisi usaha tekstil Indonesia kini tengah maju. Berbeda dengan tahun-tahun sebelumnya yang mengalami penurunan. "Pertumbuhan Indonesia luar biasa, sekarang bukan sunset lagi tapi growing," katanya.

 

Ketua Umum Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia Jawa Barat (API Jabar) Ade Sudrajat mengatakan,

permintaan global meningkatkan ekspor tekstil dan produk tekstil naik lima persen pada 2017 kemudian naik lagi delapan persen pada 2018. "Sebelumnya tidak meningkat," kata dia. Target mulai sekarang yaitu memenuhi kebutuhan domestik hingga seratus persen dan nilai ekspor mencapai US$ 30 miliar.

 

Sekarang kata Ade, angka kebutuhan tekstil per kapita naik dua kilogram dari 4,5 menjadi 6,5 kilogram. Namun di pasar domestik ini baru memenuhi 60 juta orang Indonesia, selebihnya masih diimpor.

 

Sementara itu, akses pasar tekstil dan produk tekstil saat ini masih tergantung pada pasar tradisional yaitu Amerika Serikat dan Uni Eropa.  "Mulai 2020 kita dorong ekspor dengan tenaga kerja puluhan juta orang dan tekstilnya dirancang lebih kreatif dan inovatif," kata Ade.

 

Wakil Ketua Umum Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia Bidang Perdagangan Luar Negeri Anne Patricia Sutanto mengatakan pendapatan usaha industri tekstil dan produk tekstil Indonesia kini baru sebesar US$13 miliar. Lewat roadmap yang kini tengah disempurnakan, target pendapatan pada 2025-2035 dipatok US$30-50 miliar.

 

"Tantangan ke depan ekspansi ke (pasar) dalam negeri. Sekarang (pengusaha) masih pada impor karena fleksibel dan murah," ujarnya di Bandung, Jumat, 14 September 2018.
