Entikong Customs Office destroyed 42 tons of used clothing and illegal textile materials. Illegal goods were confiscated by smuggling in 2009-2018.

"The used clothing and textile material that was destroyed were the result of repression at the Entikong Cross-border Door and smuggling through the rat lane. The amount is calculated if cubic equivalent of two containers, "said the Head of Entikong Customs, Dwi Jogyastara.

According to Dwi Jogyastara, the import of used clothing is prohibited according to the Minister of Trade Regulation 51/2015. Dwi said that the state losses due to smuggling of used clothing and textile materials were around Rp. 2 billion.

To prevent smuggling of illegal goods through the Entikong border, Customs and Excise will continue to increase synergy with related parties.

"Customs function at the border as a community protector to protect, protect the public from the dangers of illegal goods," said Dwi.

In addition, Customs and Excise as a trade facilitator protects domestic industries from imported goods. "For that, we are working with related parties at the border."
