Ministry of Industry Guarantees Nike to Keep Ordering Clothes from RI Factory PDF Print E-mail

The Ministry of Industry ensures Nike keeps ordering sports clothing from garment companies or apparel manufacturers in Indonesia. This was to ward off tilted news that Nike stopped ordering clothes from 19 factories in Indonesia.

 

Director General of the Chemical, Textile and Multifarious the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Achmad Sigit Dwiwahjono said, his party had confirmed directly to Nike in Singapore. He guaranteed Nike did not reduce orders for sportswear from the 19 factories.

 

" Clear is that there is no reduction in Nike order orders in Indonesia," he said, Jakarta

 

Contacted separately, Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat, as chairman who accommodated the industry said, Nike considered cooperation with garment companies in Indonesia was still profitable. That was confirmed to Nike.

 

"As long as production from Indonesia is profitable, why  I (Nike) stop. ," said Ade Sudrajat.

 

Ade added that Nike had confirmed that cooperation with the 19 garment companies was continuing.

 

"(The 19 companies are still cooperating with Nike), still, it continues," he added.

 

Previously, news circulated on social media Nike stopped ordering sportswear from 19 garment companies or apparel manufacturers in Indonesia. As many as 35,000 employees are reportedly threatened with layoffs.

 

Director General of Chemical, Textile and Multifarious Industries Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Achmad Sigit Dwiwahjono dismissed the news. His side has confirmed directly to Nike in Singapore.

 

Kemenperin Jamin Nike Tetap Order Pakaian dari Pabrik RI

 

Kementerian Perindustrian (Kemenperin) memastikan Nike tetap memesan pakaian olahraga dari perusahaan garmen atau produsen pakaian jadi di Indonesia. Hal itu untuk menepis kabar miring bahwa Nike menyetop pemesanan pakaian dari 19 pabrik di Indonesia.

 

Direktur Jenderal Industri Kimia, Tekstil, dan Aneka Kementerian Perindustrian (Kemenperin) Achmad Sigit Dwiwahjono mengatakan, pihaknya sudah mengonfirmasi langsung ke pihak Nike yang ada di Singapura. Dia menjamin Nike tidak mengurangi pesanan pakaian olahraga dari 19 pabrik tersebut.

 

"Yang jelas kan nggak ada pengurangan order order Nike di Indonesia," kata dia, Jakarta

 

Dihubungi terpisah, Ketua Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) Ade Sudrajat, selaku ketua yang mewadahi industri tersebut mengatakan, Nike menganggap kerja sama dengan perusahaan garmen di Indonesia masih menguntungkan. Hal itu sudah dikonfirmasi ke pihak Nike.

 

"Kalau selama produksi dari Indonesia menguntungkan ya kenapa saya (Nike) harus berhenti. Begitu jawabannya," kata Ade Sudrajat.

 

Ade menambahkan pihak Nike telah memastikan kerja sama dengan 19 perusahaan garmen tersebut masih berlanjut.

 

"(19 perusahaan itu masih kerja sama dengan Nike), masih, masih berlanjut," tambahnya.

 

Sebelumnya beredar kabar di media sosial Nike berhenti memesan pakaian olahraga dari 19 perusahaan garmen atau produsen pakaian jadi di Indonesia. Sebanyak 35.000 karyawan dikabarkan terancam PHK.
