The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) assesses a trade war between the United States (US) and China creating opportunities for Indonesia. In fact, the business association predicts exports, especially textile exports can soar next year.

Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) chairman Rosan Roeslani said  trade war had made import tariffs for several commodities in both countries rise. This makes commodities from other countries more competitive, including Indonesia.

"We see that there are also many products in the middle of t trade war, which actually friends of business at Kadin see that exports will be even higher next year," explain at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD Tangerang.

Rosal said that this trade war must be utilized as best as possible by domestic exporters. The reason is, opportunities like this don't happen at any time.

"InshaAllah, if they (Kadin members) joke about it hopefully this trade war is rather long. This is an opportunity that we must achieve, we must win," Rosan explain .

Not only exports, Rosan also hopes that opportunities will be used to attract investment. The reason is, with the trade war, foreign capital flows experienced significant changes, especially for developing countries such as in ASEAN. "We are competing with our neighbors as well in order to achieve investment," Rosan said.

Therefore, Rosan appealed to all parties to continue to maintain the investment climate amid current global uncertainty. Thus, local and foreign investors are interested in disbursing their capital to Indonesia.

"We must safeguard our investment business so that it continues to grow and local or outside investors can invest in Indonesia quickly and create more jobs," Rosan  said.

Perang Dagang AS-China, Kadin Prediksi Ekspor Tekstil Melonjak
