The Indonesian Textile Association (API) will boost production for exports to European Free Trade Assoction (EFTA) member countries. This was done after the Indonesian government signed a comprehensive economic agreement with four European countries namely Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Leichtenstein.

"Of course we will boost exports there. So double  exports this year," said API Chairman Ade Sudrajat Usman.

Indonesia Agreement - EFTA Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IE - CEPA) was signed at the Ministry of Trade building, Jakarta. One of the contents of the agreement is the elimination of entrance fees by 98% - 99% for textile products.

In addition to textile products, Indonesia was also given the elimination of entrance fees for gold, fish, footwear, coffee, toys, furniture, electrical equipment, machinery, bicycles, tires and palm oil.
