Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudradjat said that in the past four years, textile exports continued to shine. Every year, the export value increases even beyond the target as in 2018 where the value of TPT exports reached US $ 13.5 billion or exceeded the target set at US $ 13 billion.

 

For 2019, API is increasingly optimistic about setting a higher target at US $ 14 billion-US $ 15 billion.

 

"TPT exports continue to improve and businesses are very eager to export," he said

 

He said in 2019, the condition of the world economy was getting better plus the government had begun to realize trade agreements with Europe, especially EFTA countries namely Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway.

 

The agreement with EFTA is quite helpful to open market access to Europe, although not all European countries.

 

"We appreciate the government's steps by continuing to increase trade agreements and this is what we are waiting for," he said.

 

Ade said that if exports were shining, domestic sales would continue to grow but not as high as exports. Domestic sales are still faced with the challenges of imported products that continue to enter.

 

In 2015, the volume of imported products entered was so high that domestic textile products could not grow and sales were stagnant. Entering 2018, the volume of imported products has dropped 20 percent due to government policies that limit imported products. At present, imported products have not disappeared 100 percent and still exist even though the number is decreasing.

 

"Sales of domestic textile products remain and continue to compete with imports," he said.

 

He still asked the government to implement a policy of limiting imported products, the aim of which was to increase the competitiveness of local products. Ade has not been able to estimate domestic sales for this year but its value is far below exports. Domestic TPT sales can grow during the Eid and the new school year.

 

API Targetkan Ekspor Tekstil Rp 14 M-Rp 15 M Tahun Ini

 

 

Ekspor Tekstil dan Produk Tekstil (TPT) pada tahun 2019 ditargetkan mencapai angka US$ 14 miliar-US$ 15 miliar.

 

Ketua Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) Ade Sudradjat mengatakan dalam empat tahun terakhir ini, ekspor TPT terus bersinar. Setiap tahun, nilai ekspornya meningkat bahkan melampaui target seperti pada tahun 2018 di mana nilai ekspor TPT mencapai angka US$ 13,5 miliar atau melampaui target yang ditetapkan sebesar US$ 13 miliar.

 

Untuk tahun 2019, API semakin optimistis memasang target yang lebih tinggi di angka US$ 14 miliar-US$ 15 miliar.

 

"Ekspor TPT terus membaik dan pelaku usaha sangat bersemangat melakukan ekspor," ujar dia

 

Ia mengatakan pada tahun 2019, kondisi perekonomian dunia semakin membaik ditambah pemerintah telah mulai merealisasikan perjanjian dagang dengan Eropa, khususnya negara EFTA yaitu Swiss, Liechtenstein, Islandia dan Norwegia.

 

Perjanjian dengan EFTA cukup membantu untuk membuka akses pasar ke Eropa meskipun belum semua negara Eropa.

 

"Kami mengapresiasi langkah pemerintah dengan terus memperbanyak perjanjian dagang dan inilah yang kami tunggu," ujar dia.

 

Ade mengatakan jika ekspor semakin bersinar maka penjualan domestik tetap tumbuh tetapi tidak setinggi ekspor. Penjualan domestik masih dihadapkan pada tantangan produk impor yang tetap masuk.

 

Pada tahun 2015, volume produk impor yang masuk sangat tinggi sehingga produk TPT dalam negeri tidak bisa tumbuh dan penjualannya stagnan. Memasuki tahun 2018, volume produk impor sudah turun 20 persen karena kebijakan pemerintah yang membatasi produk impor. Saat ini, produk impor belum hilang 100 persen dan tetap eksis meskipun jumlahnya menurun.

 

" Penjualan produk TPT domestik tetap ada dan tetap bersaing dengan impor,"ujar dia.

 

Ia tetap meminta pemerintah menjalankan kebijakan pembatasan produk impor, tujuannya untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk lokal. Ade belum bisa memperkirakan penjualan domestik untuk tahun ini tetapi nilainya jauh di bawah eskpor. Penjualan domestik TPT bisa tumbuh pada saat Lebaran dan tahun ajaran baru.
