Bussinessman are asking for the completion of the European Union's Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (IEU-CEPA) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (RCEP) completed in 2019.

Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) Shinta Widjaja Kamdani said the two agreements were important for Indonesia's exports. Because the two agreements provide large market access.

The IEU-CEPA will benefit Indonesia. Increasing competitiveness due to the agreement will increase exports to a region with a population of 516 million.

Besides IEU-CEPA, RCEP will also provide a large market access for Indonesia. RCEP will provide market access in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with six partner countries, namely China, India, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

Besides CEPA, cooperation in the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) scheme was also considered very helpful. PTA tends to be more easily resolved so that it can be immediately utilized to open new markets.

"All is very profitable to be able to break exports because our products are more competitive," Shinta explained.
