Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita said that he wanted to be realistic in achieving non-oil and gas export growth target and believed that  opening step of market access would increase exports. "I want to be realistic (in achieving the 2018 non-oil and gas export growth target)," said Enggartiasto Lukita at the Ministry of Trade's Main Building.

According to him, it is realistic that it is based on the estimate that the number of non-oil and gas export growth in 2018 compared to the previous year was around 7.5 percent. This figure means that it will not reach the amount set according to the Ministry of Trade's target of 11 percent.

The reason is Enggartiasto Lukita reminded that the realization until November 2018 was 7.47 percent. However, the 7.5 percent figure is also considered a good thing because it has exceeded the Government Work Plan (RKP).

The Minister of Trade believes that the growth of non-oil exports which is below the Ministry of Trade's initial target is partly due to the phenomenon of trade wars between the United States and China which have an impact on the global economy. In the future, Enggar states that he will continue to expand trade access with various partners in various parts of the world.

He also invited various parties to participate in business forums held in order to increase national trade transactions. The Minister of Trade also highlighted that investments in export-oriented manufacturing sectors should really receive special attention to bolster export growth.

Previously, the textile and textile product (TPT) industry said it was ready to boost exports in 2019 with the support of fiscal incentives that will soon be submitted. "The TPT industry wants incentives for new investments that are oriented to foreign exchange earners and create jobs," said Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat was contacted in Jakarta.

According to Ade, these incentives for export-oriented industries can boost export performance so that they can improve Indonesia's trade balance.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Yugi Prayanto said the national economic fundamentals were still strong but the government needed to increase exports to overcome a number of problems such as the trade balance deficit.

Pertumbuhan Ekspor 2018 Melambat
