Indonesia will boost exports to Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein. This follows the agreement between the Republic of Indonesia and the four countries incorporated in the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).

The Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto, said Indonesia needs to maximize the export of the manufacturing industry sector which has excess domestic capacity to EFTA countries. The Indonesia-EFTA trade agreement Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IE-CEPA) must have a significant impact.

"So, the opportunity to increase our exports will be very large because the import duty there becomes zero percent. Various reliable products from Indonesia are ready to penetrate the global market, such as jewelry to Switzerland and other products such as textiles, clothing, and footwear, including products IKM, "he said

Domestically, a number of sectors that are being driven include the food and beverage industry and the textile and textile products (TPT) industry. This group is a priority development manufacturing in the road map of Making Indonesia 4.0.

Meanwhile, the textile industry is competitive because its industrial structure is integrated from upstream to downstream and its products are also known to have good quality in the international market. Indonesia's TPT export portion is around 1.6 percent of total global exports.
