Ministry of Industry Ready to Boost Manufacturing Sector Contribution to 2019 GDP PDF Print E-mail

The processing industry still provides the largest contribution to structure of gross domestic product (GDP), which is up to 19.86% throughout 2018. The Ministry of Industry emphasizes to continue to boost this achievement so that in 2019 it will increase as the government's commitment to revitalize the manufacturing sector.

 

"The manufacturing industry is backbone of national economic growth. In addition, it is a mainstay sector in spurring equitable distribution of development and the welfare of an inclusive society," said Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto

 

Airlangga also explained that industrialization activities consistently provide a broad chain effect for the national economy. These impacts include increasing the value added of domestic raw materials, absorbing local labor, as well as foreign exchange earnings from exports and taxes.

 

"Therefore, the Ministry of Industry seriously encourages downstream policies to achieve these targets," he said. This is in line with the national priority program contained in the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap.

 

"With Making Indonesia 4.0, we must be optimistic that returning manufacturing industries as a mainstream sector in national development. And, through the application of industry 4.0, will further improve efficiency and productivity in creating quality products," he added.

 

Based on the Ministry of Industry's record, the non-oil and gas processing industry was able to grow by 4.77% in 2018. The supporting sectors included machinery and equipment industries which grew 9.49%, followed by the leather industry, leather goods and footwear which grew 9 , 42%.

 

Furthermore, the brilliant performance was also shown by the base metal industry which grew 8.99%, the textile and apparel industry which grew 8.73%, the food and beverage industry which grew 7.91%, and the rubber industry, goods from rubber and plastic which grew 6.92%.

 

 

Kemenperin Siap Genjot Kontribusi Sektor Manufaktur ke PDB 2019

 

 

Industri pengolahan masih memberikan kontribusi terbesar terhadap struktur produk domestik bruto (PDB) nasional, yakni hingga 19,86% sepanjang tahun 2018. Kementerian Perindustrian (Kemenperin) menegaskan untuk terus menggenjot capaian ini agar di tahun 2019 lebih meningkat seiring komitmen pemerintah merevitalisasi sektor manufaktur.

 

"Industri manufaktur merupakan tulang punggung bagi pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional. Selain itu menjadi sektor andalan dalam memacu pemerataan terhadap pembangunan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat yang inklusif," kata Menteri Perindustrian (Menperin) Airlangga Hartarto

 

Airlangga juga menjelaskan, aktivitas industrialisasi konsisten memberikan efek berantai yang luas bagi perekonomian nasional. Dampak itu antara lain meningkatkan pada nilai tambah bahan baku dalam negeri, penyerapan tenaga kerja lokal, serta penerimaan devisa dari ekspor dan pajak.

 

"Oleh karena itu, Kemenperin serius mendorong kebijakan hilirisasi guna mencapai sasaran tersebut," tegasnya. Hal ini sejalan dengan program prioritas nasional yang terdapat dalam roadmap Making Indonesia 4.0.

 

"Dengan Making Indonesia 4.0, kita harus optimistis mengembalikan industri manufaktur sebagai sektor mainstream dalam pembangunan nasional. Dan, melalui penerapan industri 4.0, akan lebih meningkatkan efisiensi dan produktivitas dalam menciptakan produk berkualitas," imbuhnya.

 

Berdasarkan catatan Kemenperin, industri pengolahan nonmigas mampu tumbuh sebesar 4,77% pada tahun 2018. Adapun sektor yang menjadi penopangnya, antara lain industri mesin dan perlengkapan yang tumbuh 9,49%, disusul industri kulit, barang dari kulit dan alas kaki yang tumbuh 9,42%.

 

Selanjutnya, kinerja gemilang juga ditunjukkan oleh industri logam dasar yang tumbuh 8,99%, industri tekstil dan pakaian jadi yang tumbuh 8,73%, industri makanan dan minuman yang tumbuh 7,91%, serta industri karet, barang dari karet dan plastik yang tumbuh 6,92%.
