Indonesian textile and textile product (TPT), fisheries and automotive business people believe in Indonesia's pact - South Korea CEPA will increase the scale of their business and exports.

Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat estimates that the IK CEPA will eliminate the TPT trade balance deficit with South Korea. Because, so far Indonesian TPT producers have difficulty entering the Ginseng Country market.

According to his data, last year textile imports from South Korea reached US $ 2 billion, the second largest after China. Meanwhile, in the same period, Indonesia's TPT exports only reached US $ 200 million.

He estimates, with exemption of import duties on textile products in South Korea, Indonesia's exports of these products will increase to above US $ 2 billion.

Budhi Wibowo, Chairperson of Indonesian Fisheries Product Processing and Marketing Entrepreneur Association (AP5I), said that with the exemption of IK CEPA import duty, Indonesia's fishery exports could grow by more than 5%. Meanwhile, the most demanded commodity by the Ginseng country so far is shrimp and milkfish.

"The export potential to South Korea is quite large. Their fish consumption is quite large and could be an opportunity for us, "he said

Chairperson of the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) Jongkie Sugiarto said the automotive sector industry would be greatly helped by the IK CEPA. According to him, Indonesia can boost exports from the components of motorized vehicles.

On the other hand, he continued, Indonesia could use the IK CEPA to attract automotive sector investment into the country.

"In terms of automotive technology, South Korea is very good. We hope that Indonesia can become their production base for high-level automotive products. It is not impossible that South Korea will be interested in producing self-driving cars in our country, "he said.

Pakta Dagang Indonesia-Korea Akan Menguntungkan Sektor Tekstil
