Availability of raw materials is a major factor in the business continuity of textile and textile products (TPT) sector in Asia. The turmoil and fluctuations in world  fiber market in the past three years have become a crucial issue for TPT producers in preparing business plans amid promising consumption growth.

Asia as a supplier of more than 70% of the world's fiber needs has a very significant role in predicting future industry conditions and challenges.

The Asian Chemical Fiber Industries Federation (ACFIF) is an association of chemical and artificial fiber industry associations of Asian fiber producers spread across nine countries, consisting of Japan, China, China Taipei, India, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand and Indonesia. ACFIF will hold its 12th conference with the theme "Sustainability of Man Made Fibers" on 10-13 April 2019 at Conrad Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali.

Indonesia, through the Indonesian Filament Fiber and Yarn Producers Association (APSyFI), is believed to be the host of the conference which was attended by ACFIF member countries, and will also be attended by four observer countries consisting of Denmark, Kuwait, Germany and Sweden.

This conference is an important opportunity for stakeholders to obtain the latest and accurate information regarding chemical fiber industry and its development along with its development in addition to the great opportunities to expand business networks. The event is planned to present a variety of expert speakers from various industrial backgrounds of artificial fibers both polyester, rayon and nylon.

The same was conveyed by the General Chairperson of Apsyfi, Ravi Shankar. "This conference is a very important event for all stakeholders in showing support for the growth of the national industry. In addition, this is also a great opportunity for industry players to expand their business networks. At this 12th conference, many topics on current information and accurate information about the fiber industry will be presented by various expert speakers in each field. "

The latest report from the Japan Chemical Fiber Association (JCFA) projects the production of chemical fiber and natural fibers to reach 98 million metric tons and 24 metric tons respectively in 2025. This shows that the trend of chemical fiber will increase in the next five years compared to the level of natural fiber production is stagnant.

By promoting the issue of high technology and innovation as key words, the 12th ACFIF Conference will focus on the formation of markets in the future that depend on cross-industry cooperation, interdisciplinary research and new sectors. In this conference, decision makers will discuss comprehensively and provide data, facts and estimates, as well as new references.

The series of events began on April 10 with a preliminary meeting of ACFIF members, the event aimed at discussing the strategic agenda to be discussed during the conference. The next day April 11 and 12 was the highlight of the event and will be opened by the Indonesian Minister of Industry. All members explained the material and also reports from each country, the series of conferences will be closed by the Indonesian Minister of Trade.

After the conference, delegates from participating countries will be invited to a cocktail party and gala dinner to network, exchange ideas or simply unwind. At the event the host will present Indonesian regional dances as well as performances of Balinese gamelan from artists in Bali that are incorporated in Dwi Mekar's art hermitage

In the conference later, representatives of each member country will present the important material that is their focus. Among them, South Korea will raise the issue "The 4th industrial revolution and the future direction of the Korean textiles & fashion industry". The Japanese delegation will present the material on "Global Mid-term Chemical Fiber Supply / Demand Forecast and Challenges". Until the Indian representative, Mr. R D Udhesi presented "Raw Material Trends for Synthetic Fiber".

The future emphasis of the industry that will rely on artificial fibers and its derivative products as future fibers is one of ACFIF's commitments in promoting environmental sustainability. This is in line with the need for an industrial sustainability spirit that is in line with environmental conservation efforts as the Minister of Environment of Republic of Indonesia said in a key explanation that will be delivered at the end of the first day of the conference.

With more and more parties from both the government and the private sector supporting this conference, it is hoped that the development of the chemical fiber industry will be better and able to face the challenges ahead.
