The Ministry of Industry projects the food and beverage industry (mamin) and textiles and textile products (TPT) will grow high in the first semester of 2019. These projections are made based on the momentum of the 2019 General Elections and Presidential Elections and 2019 Ramadan celebrations.

Projection is also made by basing it on the performance of food and beverage industry and TPT throughout 2018. The Ministry of Industry noted that throughout the year 2018 the food and beverage industry could grow by 7.91 percent.

Meanwhile, the textile industry managed to grow 8.73 percent. Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry Haris Munandar said the achievement exceeded 2018 economic growth which was only 5.17 percent.

"We hope that the food and beverage industry will grow 9 percent more. The growth of this sector is also supported by an increase in investment, including in the textile industry and footwear," he said.

Haris said the industry's performance going forward might be better. Especially if you look at the implementation of the 2019 Election and Presidential Election which runs safely and peacefully.

"It means, from a social, political and economic perspective, good things will happen. For this reason, trust in the government must be maintained," he said.

Haris said that maintaining trust can be done by improving the ease of business in Indonesia.

"In addition, in order for the industry to grow and investors to become more confident, government spurs by providing incentives. For example, what will be issued, namely super deductible tax to support innovation and industrial vocations," he added.
