The trade war between the United States and China began to be felt by industry players in the country, one of which was the Indonesian Textile Association (API). This effect was felt by flood of textile goods from China into the country.

API Chairman Ade Sudrajat said that this condition occurred because China had to sell excess production goods that could not enter America into other countries.

"We just want to talk to various decision makers this week, to submit our proposal. We will submit a proposal for  comprehensive, what steps will be taken by the government, especially the Minister of Industry, Minister of Trade," said the Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API ) Ade Sudrajat

Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat said that the US versus China trade war greatly affected the global market.

A trade war occurs as the increase in American import tariffs on all Chinese products becomes 25 percent. Commodities such as steel, electronics, garments, and downstream plastic products are expected to feel the greatest impact.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the Indonesian government must be wary of unstable import and export trade turmoil because of the China-American trade war. According to her, Indonesia can no longer rely on exports for economic growth and stabilizing prices.
