The Korea Times media also specifically made coverage on ASEAN designers who presented their works there including Lia Mustafa.

Contemporary lurik weaving with the theme "Cross Border" by designer from Yogyakarta, Lia Mustafa managed to steal the attention at the ASEAN Week stage in Seoul, South Korea recently.

In an article from The Korean Times entitled "Fashion, new window for ASEAN-Korea ties", Lia Mustafa said that he wanted to introduce the richness of Indonesian textiles with his motives while showing that traditional clothing could be a dynamic and energetic part of youth fashion.

Lia Mustafa wants to promote contemporary design using traditional fabrics, namely lurik, kawung and sarong.

"I hope this dynamic and energetic design can appeal to young people, who do not abandon cultural roots but still follow fashion trends, have noble hearts built on simplicity in the process of life, social interaction and in building the nation," he told The Korea The Times.

Coming from a Muslim country, Lia also hopes to increase awareness of Muslim women's fashion trends known for their simple designs.

Lia said that Muslim women's clothing received attention in the West, because of its concept of a comfortable life.

Lia also said that Indonesia aims to become "one of the world's fashion fashions". He also wants to be connected and work with ASEAN fashion designers and other Koreans.
