Business people in Indonesia see the positive side of the trade war between the United States (US) and China. Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Rosan Roeslani, said the impact of the trade war between the two countries would not be significant to Indonesia.

Moreover, Indonesia is not yet included in the world supply chain. "Compared to other countries the impact is not too big, because we are not a significant global chain like Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia. So the impact is there, but not too significant," Rosan said.

Rosan also saw the business potential in a trade war that occurred. One of them is Indonesia's export products are becoming more competitive, because products from China are being hit by US President Donald Trump's tariffs.

"First, Indonesian products must be more competitive. We take the positive side," he said.

He gave an example, due to the trade war, the export of Indonesian textile products could increase. In addition, the export of tire (tire) products also began to be competitive.

"Our textile exports will increase. Since China is subject to tariffs, it is time for us to go in. Besides textile, there are also tire products, this seems to be starting to compete," he explained.
