Millennials generation that are dynamic make their lifestyle shift rapidly. Apparently, this condition also affected the fashion industry. Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Shopping Centers (Hippindo) Budihardjo Iduansjah said, the fashion industry did experience a decline due to changes in people's lifestyles.

However, the decline occurred only in the fashion industry, not in other industries. "Actually, that in certain sectors, fashion has decreased. The decline occurred because of changes in lifestyle," said Budihardjo Iduansjah in Jakarta.

According to Budihardjo, decline in the fashion industry is happening because consumers shop a lot on online platforms. Unmitigated, consumers choose online overseas platforms compared to domestic ones. "The customer is now buying fashion on social media.

If you buy it inside the country it's okay. But they bought it online abroad. So we are meeting with garment associations and textile associations to submit to the government to make regulations in this matter, "said Budihardjo. Not only that, the millennial generation is currently shopping more casual fashion than formal fashion.

This makes some fashion industry players experience a decline in sales. "These millennial generation are more casual, not formal, for example, when they bought official shoes, now they choose sneakers. But actually this decline is not merely lost, but the trend is shifting," he said. Budihardjo said , the presence of tourists in shopping centers that are usually able to boost the offline industry declined compared to previous years.
