It is undeniable, the fashion industry has become one of the biggest contributors to textile waste in the world. For this reason, a solution is needed to reduce textile waste which causes environmental pollution.

Mariam Tania, Marketing & Branding Manager, Lenzing, revealed that her party invites fashion industry players to use more environmentally friendly materials, namely by using tencel materials.

"We introduce tencel as a basic material for clothing that can be used from natural materials. We want to develop and change the habit patterns of choosing clothes to develop a sustainable fashion business," Maria said in the Tencel and Ease Brand program to support Plaza Indonesia Men's Fashion Week some time ago in Jakarta.

She explained that this tencel material was obtained from certified protected forest trees, then processed into fiber, then spun into yarn, then made into material.

"Fabric with fiber has good air circulation, makes clothes comfortable to wear and is able to maintain moisture and skin health. In addition, fabric made of fiber, also has a more vibrant color, smooth, and also is biodegradable (biodegradable). We want to invite designers and fashion lovers to contribute in saving the environment by using clothing made from basic materials, "She explained.

Winston A. Mulyadi, Lenzing of Indonesia Commercial Head - SEA Region also said that this step is important to raise public awareness of the importance of a sustainable fashion industry for social and economic life, given the current excessive consumption of fashion products has dominated the world.

"Through the mainstay fiber, we are cooperating with Plaza Indonesia. Since 2018, we want to make big changes by embracing every stakeholder, including our consumers, and in particular we also have a mission to support fashion designers to develop better. Hopefully Indonesian fashion designers "We can jointly share positive values about the concept of sustainability to build a more advanced and responsible fashion industry," he said.
