188 Textile Companies Bankrupt PDF Print E-mail

Until the third quarter of 201, as many as 188 textile and textile product companies in West Java (West Java) closed down or relocated from the West Java region. That caused 68 thousand workers laid off.

West Java Acceleration Team Champion for Manpower and Transmigration Department of West Java Province Hemasari Dharmabumi said, This condition occurred due to the opening of a textile import tap from China. In addition, this is also influenced by the inability of the industry to adapt to technology.

The majority, garment companies in West Java that are out of business are in the Majalaya region, Bandung Regency. Better, the company that moved moved to Central Java.

Therefore, he said, the Department of Manpower and Transmigration (Disnakertrans) of West Java Province has made various efforts so that the existing textile factories do not use wage policies. This policy is being pursued by mobilizing all stakeholders in the garment sector.

It also encourages workers in the company to have sufficient numbers to make West Java Rembug to save the textile and garment industry. This activity was carried out to save the textile and garment industry in the form of a Tripartite Sectoral Worksheet.

According to Chairman of the All Indonesian Textile Expert Association (Ikatsi) Suharno Rusdi, currently the domestic industry, especially textiles, must compete with the invasion of imported products that flood the Indonesian market. With lower prices, people prefer these products even though the quality is not necessarily better than products made by local textile factories.

Therefore, Suharsono asked the government to be more active in carrying out supervision and can emphasize to minimize foreign products. Don't let products that are similar to the country lose out to compete with important items.

"Then there must be strict protection, if possible the import duty tax is raised," he said.
