Cheaper UMK, 140 West Java Factory Moved to Central Java PDF Print E-mail

Recently, business people have been busy relocating factories from West Java to Central Java. This relocation trend is predicted to continue. Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said, for 2019, there would be 140 factories that were relocated to Central Java. That includes relocation from West Java.

"This year there are 140 factories from West Java to Central Java. There are in Tegal, Pekalongan, Sragen, Boyolali. [Sectors] all kinds include Textile and Textile Products," said Ganjar

Ganjar believes the relocation trend to Central Java will continue after some time ago held business and investment meetings. He claimed many prospective investors wanted to enter Central Java.

"There are labor-intensive sectors, there are also semi-workers. They are labor-intensive and machineries. Interestingly in Central Java, in addition to TPT, we have footwear, furniture and processed industries, especially food processing," said Ganjar.

Prospective investors will be placed in industrial estates or prospective new industrial estates. According to Ganjar, if prospective investors find their own factory locations, then there is a land issue.

"If the land has been smelled by the public that there will be an investment that is not estimated. We do not have a mechanism to put the brakes on the price of land," said the man born in Tawangmangu, Karanganyar.

He said the readiness of workers in welcoming factory relocation was relatively good. The conducive atmosphere in Central Java both in terms of security and politics is considered to be an attraction for entrepreneurs to invest and relocate factories there. In addition incentives such as tax allowance are also quite an attraction for Central Java.

"The demonstration is calm, nothing is broken. Then the labor costs are competitive, there is still plenty of land available, we are watching regulations," said Ganjar.
