The Department of Environment and Waste Management (DLHPS) of Brebes Regency ensures that the waste dumped on the banks of Kali Pedes, Hamlet Satir RT 005 / RW 009, Kutamendala Village, Tonjong District, Brebes Regency, Central Java  is a type of hazardous and toxic material ( B3) and derived from textile production.

This was revealed by the Head of DLHPS, Edy Kusmartono. Edy admitted that he had taken the waste sample and conducted research.

"The result, it has been confirmed that it is B3 waste, which means it is harmful to the environment. The waste is also certain to come from textile production," said Edy.

Edy admitted that the B3 waste belongs to PT Rayon Utama Makmur (RUM) Sukoharjo, which was dumped in the Brebes area. The allegation is inseparable from the discovery of PT RUM Sukoharjo seal with number 1803425 at the location of the waste disposal site.

"We have written to PT RUM Sukoharjo and have been sent to DLHK [Department of Environment and Forestry] of Central Java Province. We want to get information from PT RUM Sukoharjo, why did the waste get dumped here? What is the reason?" said Edy.

Edy claimed he was furious with the B3 waste dumped in the Brebes area. Moreover, the waste is very dangerous and damages crops in an area of 200 square meters.

"We don't want Brebes to become a waste disposal location. He is afraid, Brebes is like Cirebon, which is the location of medical waste disposal, so the case is handled by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, "said Edy.
