The Indonesian Textile Association (API) provides six recommendations to the government to restore the glory of the national textile and textile product (TPT) industry. The six recommendations will be discussed together with relevant ministries and institutions.

Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Textile Association Iwan Lukminto said the TPT industry was facing an onslaught of products from abroad that entered Indonesia. In fact, the quality is indistinguishable and the price is very competitive.

For this reason, he continued, it is necessary for government intervention to bridge the needs of domestic industries with increasingly free markets, so that domestic products have high competitiveness.

Therefore, the API provides recommendations to the government to be discussed together. The six main recommendations are related to raw materials, commercial, market, human resources (HR), energy and technology, and also the environment.

"Later, all of this must be harmonized. So we give recommendations the government can bridge this. So that we can later export and domestic safely," he said at the Office of the Investment Coordinating Board.

Meanwhile, the Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia said, this recommendation will be discussed together with ministries and technical institutions next week.

He also promised the government would facilitate the needs of businesses to protect domestic industries from the onslaught of products from abroad.

Bahlil also ensured that the policies of each ministry and agency would later favor the domestic industry. Thus, domestic products can regain control of the domestic market as in the past.

"We will review the recommendations in depth. The plan is that next week it will be taken to the ministries / technical institutions. There must be a synergy between businessmen and the government. Because employers need certainty," Bahlil said.
