Starting in 2020, Cotton Council International (CCI) together with the Indonesian Textile Association (API) once again initiated a forum for Indonesian textile industry players to discuss the future of the fashion industry.

The meeting place for textile and fashion industry players was originally a step to assist local industry players in understanding the use of the latest technology in the textile industry in Indonesia in order to compete at the global level. CCI representative in Indonesia, Andy Do said, the seminar titled "Future Fashion Trends Seminar" was to assist textile industry players in various regions in Indonesia to explore their potential. This year, Bandung became the location of the first roadshow in Indonesia.

Andy explained, this meeting actually discussed about trends and the future of the fashion industry in 2020. This seminar was also a step to pick up the ball carried out by Cotton Council International (CCI) which overshadowed Cotton USA with API in Bandung in exploring the potential of cotton so that it could be used by industry players local fashion to compete in the current tight global competition.

"In addition, the basic ingredients of the clothes used also need to be considered quality control," said Andy. In this "Future Fashion Trends Seminar", Cotton Council International also collaborates with Managing Director of Inside Fashion, based in Hong Kong and New York, USA, Jane Singer.

Jane explained, to be able to enter the global market, industry players need to pay attention to several important things. One of them is supply chain management, consumer habits with a global culture, current retail strategies, and global fashion industry trends.

Even so Jane is optimistic, with the ability to read various variables and fashion trends that exist in the global market, as well as the optimal application of the production side, fashion industry players in the country will be better able to compete with the players that already exist.

"Seeing the current conditions, with their unique character and various diverse cultural identities, the fashion industry in Indonesia has the potential to be able to get its own market at a global level," Jane said.
