Central Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) is concerned about the condition of a number of companies and industries in the field of textiles and pharmaceuticals in their region. Their concerns were expressed following the recent outbreak of the corona virus.

The virus said they have caused the supply of industrial raw materials from China to decline.

"Corona's impact on Central Java is most felt in the textile and pharmaceutical businesses. The supply of raw materials from China is all hampered, even for the next 2 or 3 months, that is uncertain," said Chairman of the Central Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kukrit Suryo Wicaksono when holding a meeting with a number of Business Association in Semarang.

According to Kukrit, the delay in the supply of raw materials to the textile and pharmaceutical companies has the potential to hamper the production process. If that happens, industry revenues will be disrupted.

"If the raw material is already difficult, surely the company is confused about what to do. Production must be down, income too. This is overtime also reduced", Kukrit added.

He said to anticipate the problem, textile and pharmaceutical entrepreneurs actually began to look for supplies of raw materials from other countries. Unfortunately, the quality and quantity of raw materials obtained do not match the requirements of the entrepreneurs.
