The Ministry of Industry stated that preparations for Indonesia as an official partner country at the Hannover Messe 2020 are still going well. The largest industrial technology exhibition in the world will be held on 20-24 April 2020 in Hannover, Germany.

"All the preparations so far have been good. Not only for exhibitions, but also there will be seminars, Indonesia Night, and business summit. So, we also designed these programs to be able to show the world that Indonesia is capable, "said Director General of Defense, Regional and International Industrial Access (KPAII) of the Ministry of Industry, Doddy Rahadi.

The KPAII Director General said, at the Hannover Messe 2020 event, the Ministry of Industry will focus on presenting five leading manufacturing sectors that will receive development priorities according to the direction of the Making Indonesia 4.0 road map. The five sectors are the food and beverage industry, the textile and clothing industry, the chemical industry, the electronics industry, and the automotive industry.

"We will show thematically, from upstream to downstream, such as the automotive and textile industries. Because, Indonesia already has a deep structure in the sector, "he said. In addition, the Ministry of Industry is ready to promote priority strategies and programs in Making Indonesia 4.0 as a determination to transform towards the industrial era 4.0.

Doddy also said, in the Indonesian Pavilion would be displayed symbols of cooperation that had been carried out by Indonesia and Germany. Not only in the industrial sector, but also in the field of vocational education. "For example, the Astra Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Astra) is cooperating with EKONID. In addition, we have a plan for cooperation with the German economy ministry, "he said.

In the series of international scale exhibitions, Indonesia has a great opportunity to increase investment in the industrial sector through collaboration with German companies and other partner countries. "We also encourage cooperation with potential investors from other European countries, such as France," he said.

Doddy added, investment opportunities will also occur from various sectors, such as Indonesia's efforts to move the capital city. "We believe that investors will be interested in this, such as the development of autonomous cars and the construction of smart cities," he said.

Meanwhile, the Special Staff of the Minister of Industry, Amir Sambodo, said that the Hannover Messe 2020 is a good opportunity for Indonesia as a showcase, especially in the industrial sector, which has implemented advanced technology according to the industrial era 4.0. "For example, industries that use digital technology in the production process, both those that use internet of things (IoT) or 3D printing," he explained.

Amir said, Indonesia had the opportunity to offer global scale industry players who were present at the Hannover Messe 2020 to invest in the country. "Because, in addition to having superior natural resources, Indonesia also has a region that is conducive to the development of industry 4.0," he said.

Amir is optimistic, by becoming an official partner of the Hannover Messe 2020, Indonesia and Germany will further strengthen bilateral relations and increase cooperation in the investment sector. "We want German investment to contribute to deepening the structure of the domestic industry, such as component industries. Another sector that we hope for is the development of renewable energy, "he explained.

At present, Germany is the second largest European investor in Indonesia and is part of the top five economies in the world. According to BKPM data, German investment in Indonesia in 2019 is around US $ 189 million, spread over 533 projects.
