The more widespread corona virus in Indonesia, making the need for masks and medical devices soared. Some industry players finally swerved to produce masks.

Textile entrepreneurs who are members of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) have stated their ability to produce non-medical masks and personal protective equipment (PPE).

"Our API is capable and we are committed to the people of Indonesia to be able to supply masks, to be able to supply PPE and we are committed to working together from upstream to downstream, from yarn to yarn," said Deputy Director of PT Pan Brothers Tbk Anne Patricia Sutanto.

Anne explained, the masks to be produced by his party were waterproof and anti-wind so that they could help prevent the transmission of the corona virus.

"We are switching some of our production to masks that are needed by the community in general as well as APDs and non-medical grade, we ensure that it is waterproof and windproof," said Anne

Previously, API Chairperson Jemmy Kartiwa said that his party had donated 1 million masks for free to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) as a form of social responsibility.

"This is a non-medical mask that we make together by mutual assistance from the cost of mutual assistance. We provide the self-help from API members to PMI for free," said Anne.
