Textile Industry Asks for Stimulus Acceleration PDF Print E-mail

The downstream textile and textile product (TPT) industry expects the acceleration of stimulus for the industry to be realized immediately considering the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic continues to press.

Secretary General of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Rizal Tanzil Rakhman said that his party had written to the President with a copy to a number of Ministers related to industrial stimulus requests. The reason is if not immediately given the stimulus requested cash flow or cash flow will be even more alarming.

"Diversification to the PPE at this time is enough to add breath but the garment industry that produces PPE is only a part of the total textile industry," he said.

Rizal said that the industry will continue to encourage various efforts so that the crisis can quickly pass. However, the production of 17 million PPE in fact did not have a major impact on the addition of downstream TPT production capacity.

The reason, according to Rizal, in the garment industry itself currently is the total industrial production capacity of hundreds of millions of products. For this reason, Rizal hopes that the TPT industry which is now favored to become large can be saved as soon as possible. Mainly there are concessions on regular payments such as PLN, gas, and banking installments.

"The protocol is that cash flow is 'monday-thursday', of course we are in the same voice with friends upstream, we are worried that the industry if we don't add breath will stop," he said.
