Textile Entrepreneurs Promise to Re-Recruit Again Fired Employees PDF Print E-mail

The Indonesian Textile Association (API) ensures that it will re-recruit employees subject to termination of employment (PHK) during the corona virus pandemic (Covid-19). But the process will be carried out with a note that the wheels of business are back to normal.

West Java API Secretary General Rizal Rakhman estimates that it takes one to 1.5 years for businesses in the textile industry in Indonesia to be able to return to the initial conditions, when the country recovered from the corona virus pandemic (Covid-19).

"It takes us 1-1.5 years to return to its original state. If the business runs again, we will definitely recruit again," Rizal said.

Rizal admitted, at this time the employers do not have a specific calculation related to the re-recruitment of employees in the textile industry sector subject to layoffs.

The reason is that businesses in the sector are focusing on maintaining business in the midst of exposure to Covid-19 which is considered to confront the textile industry to the worst.

"If we can't get past the Covid-19 crisis, it means we are closed, and boro-boro will absorb new workers later," Rizal said.

The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah urged employers to re-recruit workers who were laid off and laid off due to Covid-19. According to him, this was needed so that workers could meet their economic needs again. On the other hand, employers do not have to bother re-training their workers.
