Before PSBB, starting Monday, March 23, 2020 DKI Jakarta will eliminate entertainment activities. A number of malls in DKI Jakarta also responded to the circular by reducing operational hours and decided to temporarily close.

Tenants are permitted to open in the mall, only supermarkets, pharmacies, ATMs and restaurants that specialize in delivery or delivery.

Not only are the malls affected, the markets managed by Perumda Pasar Jaya, both those that sell food and non-food markets (clothing, materials, etc.) are limited in their activities.

Especially for markets that do not sell non-food needs, are required to close during the PSBB period and switch to selling goods online. For example, in Tanah Abang Market, which is famous as a tourist destination for fashion shopping, textiles and "souvenirs" for pilgrimage.

For almost three months, stalls selling clothing and textiles must be closed to follow the policy of maintaining physical distance. Though rarely seen in Tanah Abang Market stalls deserted buyers who crowded, especially before the fasting of Ramadan.

However, the economic condition of the traders forced the Tanah Abang Market back into the crowd a week before Idul Fitri. Almost all traders and visitors huddle to shop for Eid clothes, without heeding the rules of the PSBB.

Satpol PP must also intervene in order to curb the market and forcibly close the kiosks in order to enforce the rules.

The Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI) welcomes this. APPBI describes several protocols that must be implemented by malls operating in the new normal phase.
