The textile and textile product (TPT) industry does not stop producing amid the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Hopefully, textile factories are increasingly busy. The demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) consisting of masks and hazmat clothing continues to increase. After fulfilling domestic needs, the present TPT industry will need PPE.

Pan Brothers Deputy Chief Executive Anne Patricia Sutanto reported, now the company is able to produce 3 million to 5 million hazmat clothes and 30 million masks per month. That is the result of the production of 25 factories owned by Pan Brothers. In a matter of months, according to Anne, production will rise to 100 million washable masks and 1 million hazmat clothes can be washed. Also, 10 million disposable hazmat clothes.

Before the government issued PPE exports, Anne said, the global market had indeed become the main consumer of its products. The reason, PPE from Indonesia is in great demand. Now, after a few months of focus on meeting the needs of domestic PPE, he appreciates the government's policy to lift the export ban.

"Requesting masks and PPE come from the Americas, Europe and Africa. There are also from the Middle East, "Anne explained.

Anne, who is also the deputy chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API), said that textile industry players will continue to use domestic needs as a priority. Only 30-40 percent of the product will be thrown into the export market.

"This is a precaution to win the case in Indonesia," Anne explained.

On the previous occasion, the Minister of Trade Agus Suparmanto said that he had received a report on including it in the PPE export request. However, the Ministry of Trade (Ministry of Trade) has not been able to specify the potential volume of demand and its export value.

Although there is no cooperation agreement, Agus agreed that other interested countries can still order PPE from Indonesia. According to him, in addition to increasing aid for the country, PPE exports can support relations with other countries.

In line with the APD export plan, the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) stated that the highest permit approval for the health sector. One of them is related to the production of PPE and various medical devices for handling pandemics.

"Before the pandemic occurred, there were an average of 3,500–4,000 business licenses per day. Currently the trade sector is the highest, "said BKPM Head Bahlil Lahadalia some time ago.
