8 Finalist of ANFA 2018 at Sritex Factory

The NewGen Fashion Award Asia Competition was re-organized for the fifth time. A total of 8 finalists were selected to advance to the final round and previously they were equipped with several important agenda, one of which was to visit Sritex Factory in Solo, Central Java. The visit to Indonesia's largest fabric manufacturer provides valuable education to young designers of the fashion world, from watching the fabric making process to fashion, and then the checking stage, until it is ready to be delivered to clients.

 

Their presence was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Mira C. Setiadi and Mr. Iwan K Lukminto who then introduced the factory and a number of interesting workshops. It's the third time Sritex has been the main sponsor of the ANFA race, and this year they are also introducing a new container called Yarn & Co., designed specifically for young designers.

 

In the last activity, the finalists are welcome to choose Sritex cloth for presentation of the collection in the final round. They were also guided by Senior Editor of Harper's Bazaar Indonesia in preparing their designs carefully.

 

In 2018, Angelita Nurhadi, Ansy Savitri, Elsa, Frederika Chyntia Dewi, Ingrid Husodo, Merliza Terian, Rd. Andika Surasetja, and Wulan Arisia, were selected to be 8 finalists who will present their collection at Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week on 22 March. Two of them will advance to the final round where they will compete with the designers in Southeast Asia region, namely Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.

 

8 Finalis ANFA 2018 di Pabrik Sritex

 

Kompetisi Asia NewGen Fashion Award kembali diselenggarakan untuk kelima kalinya. Sebanyak 8 finalis terpilih untuk melaju ke babak final dan sebelumnya mereka dibekali beberapa agenda penting, salah satunya adalah mengunjungi Pabrik Sritex di Solo, Jawa Tengah.  Lawatan ke manufaktur kain terbesar di Indonesia ini memberi edukasi berharga kepada para desainer muda akan dunia mode, dari menyaksikan proses pembuatan kain hingga tercipta suatu busana, dan lalu tahap pengecekan, sampai siap untuk dikirimkan ke para klien.

 

Kehadiran mereka pun disambut hangat oleh Ibu Mira C. Setiadi dan Bapak Iwan K Lukminto yang kemudian introduksi mengenai sang pabrik dan sejumlah workshop menarik. Sudah ketiga kalinya Sritex menjadi sponsor utama lomba ANFA, dan tahun ini mereka juga memperkenalkan wadah baru bernama Yarn & Co., yang dirancang khusus untuk para desainer muda.

 

Pada aktivitas terakhir, para finalis dipersilahkan memilih kain hasil Sritex untuk presentasi koleksi di babak final. Mereka pun dipandu oleh Senior Editor Harper's Bazaar Indonesia dalam mempersiapkan desain mereka secara matang.

Andika Surasetja, dan Wulan Arisia, terpilih menjadi 8 finalis yang akan mempresentasikan koleksi mereka di Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week pada tanggal 22 Maret mendatang. Dua dari antaranya akan melaju ke babak final dimana mereka akan bersaing dengan para desainer di regional Asia Tenggara, yakni Malaysia, Singapura, dan Thailand.
