The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) together with the Brazilian Ambassador inaugurated the partnership of the Indonesia-Brazil Committee. The aim is to strengthen the commitment to strengthen strategic partnership, bilateral economy and business relationship between Indonesia and Brazil.

"We believe there is a lot of potential that can be extracted from this partnership, this is one of 10 bilateral agreements between Indonesia and Brazil that will make our relationship stronger," said Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Rosan P Roeslani.

According to Kadin data, the value of bilateral trade between the two countries is currently around US $ 3.5 billion per year. Indonesia exports yarn, rubber, palm oil, footwear, iron and steel, dry coconut, vegetable oils and fats, cocoa, electronics and automotive parts to Brazil. Instead, Brazil exports soybean oil, sugar, cotton, tobacco, iron ore and corn to Indonesia.

Royal Golden Eagle Director Anderson Tanoto was appointed Chairman of the Indonesia-Brazil Committee. According to him, potential commodities that can be increased by Indonesia through this agreement are palm oil, textiles and electronic products. While the products from Brazil are corn, soybeans and meat.

"We have to see more than the value of trade, but in volume, because prices can change, but the volume remains the same, so our target is to increase the volume and variety of tradable products," Anderson said.

Although reluctant to reveal the potential trade figures, but Anderson believes this bilateral agreement will have a good impact for the trade of both countries

Direktur Royal Golden Eagle Anderson Tanoto ditunjuk menjadi Ketua Komite Indonesia-Brazil.
