Lenzing Group introduces Eco Pure technology which increases the production of environmentally friendly capital fibers for the textile industry. The TENCEL ™ Modal fiber brand with Eco Pure technology is considered the most environmentally responsible choice among other capital fibers in the textile industry.

Chlorine-free bleaching in pulp and fiber provides a new standard in the clean capital fiber manufacturing industry. With a soft bleaching process, textiles made from such fibers tend to be softer than other TENCEL ™ Modal fibers that are processed through conventional bleaching, and are ideal for underwear, casual wear, fabrics for sleeping pads and more.

Eco Pure technology has an environmentally responsible production process that is overseen by EU Ecolabel1, a label of environmentally friendly excellence given to products and services that meet high environmentally friendly standards throughout its life cycle2.

The TENCEL ™ Modal brand fiber with Eco Pure technology is produced exclusively in Austria using beech wood sourced from sustainably managed forests in Central and Eastern Europe.

"Continual innovation in cellulose fiber technology and environmentally responsible production processes has been through sharing of more sustainable fiber alternatives throughout the textile chain. This provides new opportunities and perspectives for businesses and brands to improve product quality and enhance sustainable practices. The launch of Eco Pure technology for the TENCEL ™ Modal brand fiber gives brands and consumers a choice that is more comfortable and more environmentally responsible. With the sustainability system in our DNA, we will continue to review inputs from our customers to continue to develop and produce high-quality fiber that suits their needs and choices, "said Florian Heubrandner, Vice President, Global Textile Business Management, Lenzing.

Over the past few years, various brands have made the decision to get to know their supply chain with a primary focus on sustainability and transparency in producing clothing. In this connection, the TENCEL ™ Modal brand fiber with Eco Pure technology can be identified through special technology, making this environmentally friendly fiber recognizable throughout all stages of the textile manufacturing process.

"For the TENCELTM fiber brand, ensuring a sustainable supply chain is very important, because we are not only focused on ethical production, but also the right fiber production process. In 2020, one of our main objectives and core business strategies is to continue the production of high-quality fiber that aims to set higher standards in the sustainability industry and provide comfort. It is very encouraging to see that the industry and consumers are now more concerned with sustainability. We believe that the popularity of sustainable fibers will continue to grow, "Heubrandner added.
